ARTISTS selected for the launching exhibition of KAUNAS PHOTO 2014

Save the date!
The first exhibition of KAUNAS PHOTO on the theme of MUSEUMS, GALLERIES and EXHIBITIONS will open on May 17, 2014 at M.Zilinskas Art Gallery of the National M.K.Ciurlionis Art Museum.
The change of the date is due to the decision of ICOM to celebrate the Europe-wide Museum Night on May 17 to 18, 2014.

KAUNAS PHOTO festival received over 100 proposals from 25 countries, ranging from Lithuania to Spain, from Brazil to Australia. Photographers from Spain, Belgium, France and USA have been among the most active in presenting their proposals. Most of series of photographs and videos proposed dealt with the topic of museums of art. Therefore, the pre-selection of works for the exhibition was based on subject of variety of aspects of life in and around the museums of art. The final selection aimed at focusing on these precise aspects, such as architecture of museums, installation of exhibitions, museum staff, exhibition openings, museum clichés, exhibition spaces, etc.
